Louis Jambor is especially known for his illustrations for the 1947 edition of Louisa May Alcott's Little Women as well
as the 1949 version of her Jo's Boys. He also created backgrounds for the animated film version of Gulliver's Travels
for which he received screen credit. He painted dozens of murals in private homes, public buildings, and churches,
Auditorium, murals for St. Theresa's Church in Providence, Rhode Island, and in the Sister's of Mercy Chapel in Marion,
Pennsylvania. He also received numerous commissions for portraits, including Father Francis Duffy of New York's 69th
Regiment (for whom Duffy Square near Times Square in Manhattan is named). Other commissions came from Clarence
Barbour, former president of Brown University, Lord Rothmere of London, and the canonized saint Mother Cabrini.
